Advancing the Future of HR
Topic:
Hire Veterans. Keep Them.
Recruiting and retaining military talent in North Carolina
Presented By:
Ken Mayes
This session shows HR professionals how to find, hire, and keep military talent. Members leave with three changes to consider and commit to one within 30 days.
The session is built for Greensboro HR Professionals and employers. The session opens with a North Carolina talent brief, then moves to practice. Members translate a real military job into a civilian match using the O*NET Military Crosswalk. They find the point where a keyword filter rejects qualified veterans. They finish with a written commitment and a 30-day follow-up.
Ken Mayes is the Director, Military Liaison for the SHRM North Carolina State Council and the Certification Director for the SHRM Fayetteville Area Chapter.
